What we Need

  We appreciate donations of historical items; however, due to space and care limitations, we cannot accept all items. Contact the Museum to see if your treasure is appropriate for the collection.

Add your White County Ancestor to our Portrait Gallery.  If your ancestor lived in White County before 1880, we need a photo, biography, and $100 (after all, it is a fundraiser!) to include them in our Portrait Gallery.   Contact Director Judy Baker for details.  

Any newspapers from the White County area during the Civil War and issues from 1911 and 1912 of the Monticello Herald newspapers. 

We need the following yearbooks to complete our collection of White County School history.

Buffalo need 1950, 1951, 1952, 1953, 1954, 1955, 1956, 1957, 1958, 1959, 1962.

Burnettsville need all years except 1916, 1955,  1956, 1957, 1958, 1961 

Chalmers need all years except 1951 & 1964.

Idaville need all years except 1911.

Monon need 1944, 1945, 1946, 1947, 1948, 1949, 1950, 1951, 1953, 1954, 1955, 1957, 1960.

Monticello need 1943, 1944, 1948.

Reynolds  need all years

Twin Lakes need 1988, 1990, 1993 & 2011-present.

Wolcott need all years except 1963.

Volunteers are what make things happen!   We always need help with indexing, cleaning display cases, organizing shelving in the archive room, setting up displays, or someone to Meet and Greet our visitors. If you would like to volunteer, please use the Contact Us!
