The White County Historical Society is a self-funded nonprofit organization operating under the 501 3c regulations. Our efforts are supported through memberships, contributions, donations, research, merchandise sales, and from White County.
Located in the Historic Monticello Carnegie Public Library building, our collection of historical items are on display on the main floor and the basement. (Please note our historic building is not ADA accessible and there is no ADA bathroom). Additionally, the White County Genealogy Society research library is housed on the main floor.
The White County Historical Society does more than house it's history. Several events and programs are held annually to benefit our members and help raise funds and awareness.
There are many ways to contribute to the White County Historical Society. Whether it is monetary, volunteering, or the contribution of artifacts or bequests, all are welcome and highly valued by the Society.
We look forward to seeing you.
